Overview

Following the broadening of the framework to govern referral, introducing and marketing representatives across all regulated activities as provided in the Guidelines for Marketing Representatives issued on 23 June 2017 (which supersedes the Guidelines for Registered Person {Registered Representative}) and the new Chapter 11 of the Licensing Handbook, SIDC is pleased to announce the following updates/revisions:
  • the Familiarisation Programme for Registered Representatives Fund Management Segment shall be replaced with the Familiarisation Programme for Marketing Representatives (FPMR) to be undertaken and completed by individuals who intend to be registered as a Marketing Representative; and 
  • the Familiarisation Programme for Registered Representatives (FPRRs) I and II shall remain unchanged save for the fact that it is now to be undertaken and completed by individuals who intend to be registered as a Trading Representative only (as provided under Chapter 11 of the Licensing Handbook) and no longer for Introducing Representatives. The requirements for the Introducing Representative is subsumed in the Guidelines for Marketing Representatives.
