Equity Crowdfunding 101

Date: 28 January 2016, 6.00pm - 8.00pm
Venue: Securities Commission

Fundraising for private companies, in particular start-ups and growth type companies, has traditionally been dominated by venture capital (VC) and private equity (PE) firms. Equity crowdfunding is meant to democratise the funding space by opening up a new avenue of fundraising for private companies, as well as be an investment alternative for crowd investors. Inherent risk accompanying potentially higher returns could be mitigated by adopting proven VC methodology in equity crowdfunding.

Join Bryan Chung, COO of CrowdPlus.asia to learn more about crowdfunding. This session will provide an introduction of equity crowdfunding in Malaysia that will assist you in understanding this new funding channel, and help you to identify and utilise opportunities available to both issuers and investors.
