EDMUND YONG
Edmund has held several senior management roles, as the former Asia Pacific Director for a big data and blockchain-powered company on the Fortune Global 500, and General Manager of a dominant credit reporting bureau. Prior to this, he cut his teeth in finance for over a decade, where he last headed an unsecured lending arm of a sovereign fund-owned bank as Senior Vice President.
He has led several industry-first and market-leading solutions on fintech, risk scoring, and e-delivery, which are honoured with dozens of international awards for product innovation.
His career has spanned three continents, and is professionally certified in CFPI®, PDCA® and Six Sigma® Black Belt methodologies for Total Quality Management (TQM), with four academic degrees (including LLB and MBA).
JESSICA CHUAH
Jessica is the Chief Compliance Officer at Tokenize Xchange. A risk practitioner with a demonstrated history of working in financial services industry in particularly Financial Technology. Skilled in Internal audit, risk management, corporate financial reporting. Well versed with FSA, IFSA, AMLA and Capital Markets and Services Act. Strong business development with Bachelors of Laws (LLB) from University of London and ACCA. Member of Malaysia Institute of Accountant.
In the past Jessica had consulted various ICO projects, helping clients to develop, draft and maintain compliance policies and procedures outlining firm requirements, regulations and best practices. On a continuous development, she analyses new or amended laws, rules and regulations in order to formulate practical solutions to industry-wide issues. Coordinated with the business, Legal, Technology and other divisions across client’s firm on new desk initiative.
Jessica was also a judge on the Reality Programme for UNBLOCKATHON. She also gives advise to students or participants for developing business model.
ABDUL FATTAH MOHAMED YATIM
Mr. Abdul Fattah Yatim is the Chairman of the National Standards Committee on Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies (codenamed TC/G/15 under the Department of Standards Malaysia, Act 549). The Committee comprises representatives from Government agencies, Regulators, Industry, R&D organisations, NGOs and Academia. The Committee works closely at the ISO Committee on Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies, codenamed ISO/TC 307) with participation from over 40 countries.
Mr Fattah has over 40 years of work experience, starting off as an electrical engineer with the National Electricity Board (now Tenaga Nasional Berhad), from 1978-1983. He specialized on long range planning for Transmission and Generation and following his deep involvement in computing methods in those functions, he decided to leave the company and switch to ICT as a career.
He worked in Esso Production Malaysia Inc (now Exxon Malaysia) from 1984-1995 where his last position was the Applications Manager managing an annual ICT budget of over RM 150 Million and covering all applications in the Upstream (Exploration, Production and Engineering Economics), Downstream (Refinery, Supply, Products and Logistics) and Common Functions (ERP, Human Resource, Finance, Procurement, Maintenance, Contracts etc). While in Esso, he had foreign assignments in Production Departments of Exxon Production Research Company and Exxon Company USA in Houston, Texas USA and the ICT Department of Esso UK PLC, London, UK in 1987-1989.
From 1996 he joined a consultant firm and was assigned to lead a Consulting team to the Malaysian Armed Forces on a critical project covering the Army, Navy, Air Force and Joint Services.
Since 2002 he has been attached to several consultant firms as a freelance consultant to both the public and private sectors in Project Management, ICT Strategic Plans, Business Process Reengineering, ICT Security, Business Continuity Management, Risk Management and Blockchain. He played a significant role in the implementation of the National Cyber Security Policy as a consultant to Cybersecurity Malaysia.
Mr Fattah is a Professional Member of the OIC-CERT (Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation, Computer Emergency Response Team, www.oic-cert.org) which presently comprises CERT organisations from more than 20 countries, members from industry, and professional members. He was a Council Member of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM). He was also a Council Member of the Malaysian Society for Engineering and Technology.
Since 2007, he has represented the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia, in the Malaysian National Committee on ICT Standards (known as ISC/G Committee under the Department of Standards Malaysia, Act 549) where he is presently also the Deputy Chairman. The committee oversees the development and adoption of ICT standards in Malaysia working closely with ISO. These include Information Security, E-Commerce, Software Engineering, Intelligent Transportation, GIS, Health Informatics and Internet of Things. The Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies Standards Committee (TC/G/15) is one of the committees under ISC/G.
Mr Fattah has given more than 30 talks on Blockchain in various platforms and conferences.
HARPREET SINGH MAAN
Born and raised in Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur, Blocklime CEO Harpreet Maan comes from humble beginning. Armed with his natural inquisitiveness, a software development graduate and a blockchain developer by the age of 22.
Harpreet envisions a future where blockchain not only solves real life issues but truly established the trust between the technology and people. With this vision, he founded Blocklime, a Malaysian company cater to distributed ledger technology (DLT) and blockchain development. He has also started on thought leadership focusing on DLT and blockchain technology and its potential applications in fintech, insurtech, and regtech.
On his blockchain journey, he realizes that the blockchain ecosystem has a lack of blockchain talent especially in SEA region as well as many are still unaware of the blockchain technology. With that, he
strongly believes that it is crucial to build talents and increase Ablockchain awareness by building blockchain communities and organising blockchain training by Blocklime.
He envisions that the potential and impact of DLT technologies will be great for the betterment of society and acts as an enabler to pave access to the adoption of both blockchain and DLT technologies. Along his journey in Blockchain he gained a position in the ISO Committee as a National committee member on ISO standards for “Blockchain & Electronic Distributed Ledger Technologies”. He is an Ambassador for Hedera Hashgraph and Hyperledger. He is also a member of MDEC Digital Expert Panel to assist on Blockchain adoption in education & industry.
