Johan Rozali-Wathooth,

Johan started his career more than two decades ago in London within the corporate restructuring industry, before transitioning into the alternative investments industry which included stints working for some of the leading private equity and special situation alternative investment firms globally. Johan founded Bintang Capital Partners Berhad, an award-winning Southeast Asian impact investment focused private equity firm, in 2018. The firm is a joint venture between Johan and AHAM Asset Management Berhad. Apart from being a representative director on Bintang portfolio companies’ boards, Johan also chairs the boards of TMK Chemical Berhad (a leading Southeast Asian end-to-end chemical product manufacturer and distributor) and Wise Payments Malaysia Sdn Bhd (the wholly- owned Malaysian subsidiary of Wise PLC).

Apart from his corporate interests, Johan is also a passionate advocate of impact causes where he serves on various boards and committees including the Tunku Abdul Rahman Foundation, Impact Integrated and the Malaysian Leprosy Relief Association. Johan holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics, which he attended as a UK Government Chevening Commonwealth Scholar. He is also a Fellow Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales and a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder.
