Project Manager, Tropical Rainforest Conservation and Research Centre (TRCRC)
Reuben Durairatnam is a Project Manager with Tropical Rainforest Conservation & Research Centre (TRCRC) a Malaysian based Environmental NGO. His primary focus is on climate change mitigation and sustainable land use. He is currently working on an ASEAN wide EU funded programme called Sustainable Use of Peatlands for Haze Mitigation (SUPA). This programme works on improving data and information, capacity of sustainable businesses and communication and outreach on peatlands.
He believes that environmental considerations and social inclusivity are crucial pillars for the long-term sustainability of any business. Everyone can play a role in tackling climate change and biodiversity loss.
He holds a Bachelors of Chemical Engineering from University Malaya as well as a Masters in Biotechnology from University of Queensland, Australia. He has 18 years of experience in various roles in the areas of process engineering, R&D, product and project development. He has worked in different industries including environment, biotechnology, agriculture, oil & gas, palm oil, biofuels and semiconductor industries.
