Srithar Sriramulu, CFE
General Manager, Investigation and Special Review, PETRONAS
Sri is currently the General Manager of Investigation & Special Review (ISR), PETRONAS Group Internal Audit, and a seasoned professional with experience in fraud investigations, internal audit and external audit for almost two decades. He plays a key role in overseeing and handling investigations in the Group.
In 2018, he spearheaded the design and implementation of Integrity Risk Assessment (IRA) across PETRONAS Group. Additionally, he led the implementation of Lifestyle Audit & Forensic Analysis (LEAF) in 2021 as part of preventative and deterrent measure against bribery & corruption. With LEAF implementation, PETRONAS Group further strengthened internal controls with pre-emptive management of integrity cases by identifying early warning signs.
Sri is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) Texas, USA and a member of Malaysia Institute of Accountants (MIA). Additionally, he was a council member of Malaysian Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (MACFE) as well as Chairman of MACFE’s Membership Committee for the term 2022/23.
Sri started his career with Messrs. KPMG as an External Auditor prior to joining PETRONAS. He has vast experience and knowledge in the PETRONAS businesses across the value chain, overseeing and managing more than 250 investigations covering Upstream, Downstream, Gas and Corporate Divisions. Throughout his career, he has gathered a wealth of experience in gathering and analysing evidence, conducting interviews and performing analysis to support the investigation cases.
Over the years, he has developed exceptional communication and people skills that allow him to collaborate effectively with colleagues, law enforcement officials and other stakeholders. Recently, he has completed the Transformational Leadership Programme with MIT Sloan School of Management, USA.
