Suhaimi Sulaiman

Author of “I Hate Reading the Teleprompter: My 25 Years in Broadcasting”, Suhaimi Sulaiman is one of Malaysia’s top media personalities. A well-known TV anchor and conference moderator, Suhaimi is also a much sought-after trainer and coach in media strategies, crisis communications and branding.
On October 10, 2020, as Chief Executive Officer of Sarawak Media Group, Suhaimi and his team launched TVS, a general entertainment TV channel which is available on channel 122 Astro and myFreeview. Suhaimi left Sarawak Media Group in July 2022 after a 2-year stint in Kuching.
Prior to this, he was the CEO & Editor-in-Chief of Astro AWANI and Chairman of BERNAMA.
A multitalented storyteller, Suhaimi attended the CNN Journalism Fellowship Management Session at CNN’s Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, USA in September 2014 and is a CNN Journalism Fellow.
Suhaimi is also a media, crisis communications, leadership, branding, and perception management trainer. He has provided strategic communications advice to the top management teams of multinational companies, public listed companies, opinion leaders and politicians which include Malaysia Airports, AGROBANK, PETRONAS Dagangan, Cyberview Sdn Bhd, UDA Holdings, AXIATA, EDOTCO, Ranhill Bhd, Razak School of Government and many more.
Despite his hectic schedule, Suhaimi finds time to give lectures on communications at institutions of higher learning. He is an Adjunct Professor of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Taylor’s University. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Portland State University, Portland, Oregon, USA and an MBA from City University, Bellevue, Washington. He received his secondary education at the prestigious Malay College Kuala Kangsar.
Suhaimi wears many hats. Together with his business partner Asyraf Amir, the two men run a café (Sambal & Style) in Melaka, a backpackers hostel (Sleephere Hostel Melaka) and a boutique (Su & Ash), also in Melaka.
