Khoo Hsu Chuang
BFM Presenter, MD KHC Ventures

 

Chuang is a financial journalist with over twenty three years’ experience covering financial and capital markets in Asia and the UK/Europe working for The Edge Communications, Bloomberg LP, Thomson-Reuters Plc and BFM Radio.

He has covered tech, equity capital markets, banking, mergers/acquisitions, renewables, small-caps, current and political affairs in print, newswire and radio/TV broadcast formats.

He is currently a co-host of The Morning Run on BFM, a business and finance-oriented radio station and a former Contributing Editor with The Edge Media Group in KL, Malaysia. Chuang also spent nine years in corporate governance advocacy as an associate analyst at the activist firm, the Minority Shareholders Watchdog Group.

Outside of his media work, Chuang manages ‘Do More’, an online-only podcast/video/web platform that also offers corporate training and content creation solutions.

He also have moderated for many such similar events, with recent clients that include the World Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, UOB Bank, MIA, IERP, HSBC, CIMB, Hong Leong, Bank Negara, Maxis, Vistage, British-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce, Corenet, Private Pensions Administrator and CIMB Principal.

 

 

Dr. Afzanizam Abdul Rashid
Chief Economist, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad

 

Dr. Afzanizam has 18 years of experience in investment research, especially in the field of economic and capital market. Previously, he had served in a number of investment institutions such as Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Retirement Fund Incorporated (KWAP) and Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad (MARC) as an economist. He is also a regular commentator in the mainstream media.

Dr. Afzanizam holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Economics) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) (Applied Finance and Investment) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) as well as Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) Finance and Diploma in Investment Analysis from UiTM.

 

 

Lee Heng Guie
Socio-Economic Research Centre (SERC)

 

Lee Heng Guie is the executive director at Socio-Economic Research Centre (SERC) Malaysia.

Mr. Lee had 30 years of professional experience as an economist, with almost 13 years in Bank Negara Malaysia and 19 years within the financial services industry. Currently, Mr. Lee holds the position of Executive Director of Socio-Economic Research Centre (SERC), an independent think-tank of the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM). Mr. Lee actively contributes articles and provides economic commentaries in major print media (both English and Mandarin) as well as participated in seminars/conferences as a resource person.

He was former Head of Economics of CIMB Investment Bank and has led CIMB Macroeconomic research to be ranked top 3 for nine consecutive years (2005-13) in the Asiamoney Polls. He holds a BA (Hons) majoring in Economics from University of Malaya, Malaysia and a Master’s Degree in Development Economics from Williams College, U.S.A.
