Gamification Application in Raising Capital Market Products and Services

Gamification makes use of various gaming concepts such as rewards, an entertaining interface and a point system. The main intent of these gaming features was to build on systems that solve certain challenges businesses often encountered. Business organisations have seen the significance of technology in terms of attracting new customers, improving customer engagement, boosting productivity and overall contributing to the growth of market size. Recently, businesses have started incorporating gamification or implementation of game-like elements and mechanisms in non-game context, transforming the way services are delivered to customers.

The capital market industry is also starting to see the adoption of gamification elements in its products and services, in efforts to democratise finance by extending access to a new pool of investors, particularly Gen Z and Millennials, whose preferences and requirements include trading apps that offer slick user interfaces, near-instant account opening and at the same time allowing impulsive decisions to be made.

Hence, this programme will focus on the understanding of gamified investing in the context of proponents’ and opponents’ views in shaping the future landscape of raising capital funds as well as the regulatory oversight in ensuring the proper conduct within capital markets.

Programme Objective

This programme aims to provide insights into how democratisation of finance through gamified investing attracts a new generation of investors and assists the fundraising process within the capital market ecosystem.
