Financial statement analysis involves gaining an understanding of an organisation’s financial situation by reviewing its financial statements. This review involves identifying the trends and proportion analysis for a company’s financial statements over a series of reporting periods.

This one day programme on will give participants a better understanding of a company’s past, present and future performance by reviewing and analysing its financial statements.

Programme Objective

This programme will enables participants to interpret the key elements of financial statement analysis (the quantitative and qualitative aspects) and use the data in a wide array of financial decision-making contexts.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this programme, participants will be able to:

  1. describe the use of financial statement analysis in understanding a company’s financial position and performance;
  2. analyse a company’s financial position and performance using financial statement analysis;
  3. determine the sources of information required for financial statement analysis; and
  4. discuss the common issues with financial statement analysis and the recommended practices to address it.
